Our analysis of five decades of sex research shows an evolving spectrum of sexual norms

I analyzed the language used in 4,545 sex research papers published from 1970 to 2017 in two journals of the field: the Journal of Sex Research and the Archives of Sexual Behavior. By tracking the most-used words over five decades, the analysis reveals how the language used in the field evolved alongside shifting sexual norms and societal attitudes.
