Analysis of 141 hours of cable news reveals how mass killers are really portrayed

I analyzes 141 hours of cable news transcripts covering 27 mass shootings since Sandy Hook to investigate whether racial biases influence how killers are described in media coverage. It showed that news media typically individualized white shooters as ‘lone wolves’ while tied Black or Muslim perpetrators to their racial or religious groups.
