The buyers and sellers of Khorgos, a special trade zone on the Kazakhstan-China border

On a reporting trip in Kazahkstan, I took a bus tour to go to Khorgos, a tax-free visa-free trade zone at the China-Kazakhstan border town Khorgos on China’s New Silk Road. The story used graphics, satellite images and photos to document the shoppers and business owners of the special zone and how the policies of both countries influenced their lives.
