Chinese students increasingly return home after studying abroad

This article examines the dramatic increase in Chinese students returning home after studying abroad, rising from one in ten at the start of the century to eight in ten by 2017. The shift is driven by China’s strengthening job market, favorable domestic policies for returnees, and tightening immigration policies in Western countries.
