View project ↗This article examines CVS Health’s $69 billion acquisition of insurer Aetna in the context of competition with Amazon, highlighting CVS’s extensive physical footprint of nearly 10,000 stores within 5 miles of 71% of the US population. It argues that CVS’s brick-and-mortar presence gives it a strategic advantage over e-commerce competitors in delivering healthcare services directly to consumers.
