
Goodreads data show that women reading self-help books are getting advice from men
View project โI analyzed the data from Goodreads to help me answer the question: Do women read more self-help books than men? The data confirmed me anecdotal observations: Two-thirds of popular self-help books were written by men, yet women made up the majority of readers. This meant most women seeking life advice were getting it from male authors.
