Qantas is planning to operate the world’s longest flight in custom-built planes by 2022

Qantas Airways announced plans to launch the world’s longest flight, a direct Sydney-to-London route taking about 20 hours, by 2022. The airline solicited proposals from Boeing and Airbus for custom-built planes that would need to be lighter, carrying fewer passengers but offering more legroom and onboard amenities.
