The world’s richest countries are the top buyers of goods at risk of being made by slaves

This piece visualized the extent of modern slavery embedded in the global economy, I mapped the products at risk of being made by forced labor — from chocolate picked by children in Ghana to clothes sewn by exploited migrant workers in India — showing that the U.S. is the world’s biggest importer of goods linked to modern slavery, making consumers unwitting participants in a supply chain built on exploitation.
